A Day At The Cemetary

Dear Grandpa Brad-
Today Mommy brought me to visit you but you were not there. We sat there and wondered how it would be if you were still around. Mommy says that you would have munched on my little cheeks and my little chubs on my thighs. She told me how you would have loved to snuggle me and rock me to sleep. She told me that you would have taught me to love the BYU cougars as much as you did and you might have even taken me to some games with you. Even though I was with you in heaven a short time ago- I think I would have loved to be with you here on earth. You and Nanny could have babysat me together and had the time of your life with me and my cousins. We are all pretty dang cute you know. I know that someday I will be with you again- you will always be my "Grandpa". I will try to come and visit you often and each time when I go I will have Mommy tell me a story about you so I can learn about you and the kind of person that you were. I love you Grandpa!
Love, Baby Evan
Baby Evan's first time at the Cemetary
It was a pretty special day today!
Hailey, Dev, Tayc, Evan, and I
Hailey and her girlies visiting Grandpa!
Grandpa's lil' grandkids- Minus Dallin, Porter, and baby to be!
Devree kept wondering why Grandpa was under the grass....Someday she will understand but for now it was pretty cute! We just kept telling her that he was up in Heaven with Jesus- she responded, "he better be quiet up there". Gotta love Dev!
We love you and miss you lots Dad- we talk about you and will always tell our kiddos about the crazy guy you were! They would have loved you! Lately I think the hardest part of having Evan has been that it has made me miss and think about my Dad a lot! He would have loved these kiddos and they would have adored him as well. Luckily Nanny spoils us rotten and loves the kids so much that it is like having 2 people love you at once!

Navajo Taco Night with the Stewart's

Last night all the Stewart's got together at Lukes' sister Ali's house. We had nummy navajo tacos and rootbeer floats! It was perfect weather and perfect company- who could ask for anything more!

We were all loving being outside and all the kids were just having a hay-day on the tramp, playing in the dirt, and in the sandbox!
Baby Ev was so tired he just fell right to sleep in his Daddy's arms
Thanks for the get together!

What we have been up to-

Evan is seriously growing so fast! He is growing into this cute baby boy with the cutest little personality. He has just discovered this little mat/toy and it keeps him quite entertained!
This weekend I was able to take my Mother in law and my 3 sister in laws up to my grandparents Midway house. We just relaxed and watched a movie. We left most of the kiddos at home so it was a nice little break!
Here is Hallie and Evan after going to the Park City outlets on Saturday. The power went out in all of Park City so unfortunately our shopping was cut short!

Bompa did his famous Goose Step (that is just what we have always called it) and put Evan right to sleep both times!
On Thursday Anita, Kate, Hayden, Evan, and I all headed up to the new Nordstrom Rack. After the shopping was complete Evan was little fussy/wiggly and I just knew he was working up a Big one if you know what I mean. Sure enough!!! Lets just say its a good thing I came prepared because we just through that onesie away!

I think that one of Evan's most favorite things is the Boppy! He loves to watch me do my make-up while he is just chillin' in it. His favorite way to eat is when I have the Boppy on. It has just been a lifesaver for us.

2 Month Appointment:

Evan had his 2 Month Appointment yesterday. Here are the stats:
Weight: 13 1/2 lbs (86%tile)
Height: 25 1/2 in (98%tile)
He is such a tall boy! He grew exactly 2 inches in 6 weeks.
This picture says it all about our day yesterday. First of all we were at the doctor office a total of 1 hour 45 minutes= way too long! Our little guy had to get 3 shots yesterday. It was pretty traumatic for both of us. After the nurse left the room I just started to cry- oh the joys of Motherhood. I had this protective feeling inside me and I felt like telling Evan I would never let anybody hurt him ever again! Poor Evan just cried and cried with the one shot that the nurse told me would hurt him pretty bad!
All night he was a little fussy and just miserable....It seriously broke my heart!
Daddy decided we better just hold him and give him whatever he wants! So baby Evan got to sleep right in bed with us.
Someone please tell me that it gets easier when they get their shots or am I going to feel so sad everytime?!

This was Evan's first Easter and the bunny did find us! Evan got a cute little shirt and spoons for when he starts to eat baby food. Luke got the usual Spring shirt and candy!
The Easter baskets!
Over the weekend we spent some time up at the Midway House. Evan went on his first little Easter Egg Hunt. All of them were filled with $$$- so he ended up with $20!
Our little family on our way to church

Evan's cute little Easter outfit. Thanks to my friend Kel!

We had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed spending time with both of our families! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter.

Why....Why.....Why

Can anyone please tell me why eating candy that is in the shape of the holiday is so tempting and so much better than the regular thing?
Example: Why is eating a sugar cookie in the shape of a chick, egg, or flower so good? I would give anything to eat one this very second. But at the same time if you put just a regular round sugar cookie it wouldn't be as tempting?!
Another prime example: I am addicted to eating these when they are eggs, trees, pumpkins, etc. Yet I would never walk in and buy a regular reese's peanut butter cup ever? I just crave these when they are made into shapes.

Another great example: Cinnamon bunnies?! I just don't get it! Luckily there is not another holiday with candy associated to it for a long time......What is a gal to do?

2 Months Already?!

Daddy's little boy

I seriously cannot believe that Evan is 8 weeks old already. Time really does fly when your having a blast! The past 2 months have been amazing- some days so good, some days so hard, some days so tiring, and some days the greatest. Here are some of the highlights for us:
1. Evan smiles all the time
2. I finally know what he usually needs from the way he cries
3. Breastfeeding has been a piece of cake for us- which is such a blessing
4. Evan has gone from newborn to size 2 diapers!
5. He is growing growing growing! (His appointment is next week and I can't wait!)
6. He is growing out of his fussy time
7. My Mom helped me figure out that he sleeps 1000 times better on his tummy
8. He usually only wakes up once in the night- sometimes 2
9. He is starting to show us his little personality
10. He loves his bathtime

As for the Mama:
1. I officially have my ankles back
2. I love being a Mommy
3. Finally went to the dermatologist and am starting to see my acne clear up! (Cross my fingers!) 4. Started a diet and working on getting back to my pre-baby weight
5. We sort of have a routine going that works so well for Ev and I
6. Love getting out and about. I even know what stores he likes and which ones he hates!
7. I have learned that being a mother is the most selfless thing you will ever do
8. My life revolves around Evan and Luke and I love that
9. I love seeing my two boys together- it makes my heart melt and warms my soul!
10. I love staying at home with my baby and getting to see him every second of every day.

So if the past two months have brought us this much joy- I can't imagine what a whole lifetime will bring! I love you baby Ev!!!!
