This year for the 4th of July we started off with the Oakley Rodeo on Thursday night. We had a blast and there was some good bull riding to be had that night! Don't worry I was the only one dressed up for the occassion. Then Friday morning the Hansen Family had been invited to a little brunch on the patio at Cafe Terigo which is on main street in Park City. We had VIP seats for the parade and it was so fun. The parade up there is pretty darn random to say the least! Then we headed back to the Midway house to hang out and get ready for our BBQ. I have never missed a year of the famous "Stadium of Fire", but this year we tried something a little different. We just enjoyed some family friendly fireworks in the street and then some lovely fireworks off Memorial Hill in Midway. Let's just say it beat having to fight the traffic for Stadium of Fire but there was still a little part of me that was missing the festivities in Provo! Well we ended up stayin up in Midway all weekend and it was so nice and relaxing. The entire Hansen Family was up there except for Josh and his cute little family. We really missed having them up there! The weekend was full of swimming, tennis, walks, eating, sleeping, playing pool, Ticket to Ride, and then some more eating! It was so fun to have our cousins from California come into town so we could all meet their little baby Lucy. I was in heaven with Dev, Taycie, and Lucy. There was always a little one that needed some attention! I think that the 4th of July might just be one of my favorite Holidays.
So what do you think of when you think of a temple worker? I picture the sweetest grandma in the world that is short and has white hair. Well folks please believe that Luke and I have been called to be Temple Ordinance Workers. When the bishop called us in to his office the other week, I about fell off my seat! I just was thinking we are way too young for that kind of business! Well we received our letter from the Temple presidency and then the next thing we knew we were getting set a part by President Merrill J. Bateman two weeks ago. We have been assigned Tuesday evenings from 5:30-10:30 p.m. It is a 2 year calling and we are feeling pretty overwhelmed with the new calling. We feel honored and humbled by our new calling and are ready for the challenge. I think it will be such a neat opportunity for us to learn everything so well. So don't be freightened when you see Brother and Sister Stewart with their name tags on at the Temple. When we got set apart we each received an amazing blessing from the President about how special this calling is and how we will be working in the House of the Lord. It was a really special and memorable experience for us. We start on July 22 and we are super nervous and excited at the same time.

Ali that is so neat! What a awesome calling! You will learn so much and receive so many blessings for doing it and being in the temple once a week! It sounds like you guys had a good fourth of july!
I am honestly going to drive down to Provo on Tuesday night to come and see you. You can help me with any questions I have...okay! :) You are going to be so great in this new calling! Dont even worry. Hope all is going smoothly for you guys!!! ;)
congrats on your calling. i think you will do great.
You always look so adorable! You will be great at the calling and receive so many blessings!
I have been wondering what has been going on with Ali I haven't seen or heard from you in over two weeks...Looks like all is well in the Stewart household. And I am happy to hear about your calling. Colten and I knew something was up when we saw you sitting by the Bishops office after church, but we figured it would just be a calling for you. That will be so amazing. Maybe Colten and I will have to drop by on a Tuesday night just to see you guys.
How wonderful - Jason worked in the temple for a year and it brought us great blessings just from him working - so I know you will be wonderfully blessed for your service! On another note - I went to the oakley rodeo every year as a child and teen - it is great times! You should have gone to the oakley parade - it is good time, small town fun!
That is really a shock about your new calling. Wow! What a special opportunity. I would fall off my chair too! I bet everyone will love having you guys there. We'll have to come through when you guys are there.
Can't wait to run into you at the temple. Don't forget I'm new so I'm going to need lots of help!
Ali- Jill and I served in the Salt Lake Temple right after we got married for about a year. Like us, I think you guys will really enjoy the experience. Hope someday we can meet your husband and best of luck in all you do!

Oh my goodness, what a neat calling!! I can just imagine how awesome that will be for you guys! My mom works in the San Diego temple and she has loved it. Dang, I wish that was my calling...
WOW! What a neat calling. You guys will do so well. I wish that we lived closer to come on a Tuesday night. Ali you always look so cute and put together!!
That is a crazy calling Al! Here is the thing though--I would have the hardest time not laughing if I just ran into you in the temple! Good thing you gave some warning...
Ali, you are perfect for that calling! How neat. Going to the temple on a REGULAR basis totally brings blessings! Good Job.
I can't think of a better "date night" than that! Good for you...that calling doesn't surprise me at all.
Hey Ali! I'm snooping around other people's blogs and found you on Melissa's. Anyway, on to my comment- this was our first year back at Stadium of Fire after taking a 3 year break, and I think I'll be good for a few more years. That's awesome and hilarious that you're working in the temple. You're right- you don't fit the traditional mold for that calling but you'll be great! Good luck!
Al I am so excited for you and your new calling! Shocking- yes, but what a great experience for you and Luke to have together! Wish I could come see ya while you were working and see if you really are able to talk that "quiet". j/k Love ya lots and I'll keep you updated on the baby coming! Oh, i texted you our address by the way. :)
