Fiesta Days

This past week has been Fiesta Days in Spanish Fork. Luke and I were able to go with some friends to the Rodeo and to the Carnival as well. We had so much fun seeing all the "White Trash" people that come out for these occasions. Luke had promised me that he would take me on the Ferris Wheel- I was so nervous once we got on! But sure enough it was worth the ride. I seriously felt like a little kid again and it was so fun! Hope everyone enjoyed their Pioneer Day~ Luke and I were able to just spend the day together. We both are so busy that it is a rare occassion. I love being with my best friend!

So long story short....my brother and his wife are really good friends with Brooke White and her husband Dave. Hailey asked Gaye if she thought that Brooke could hook us up with some good seats. Well to our surprise Brooke got us floor seats row 4 and BACK STAGE PASSES! We all were so excited. The concert was fabulous. They all have gotten so much better even from the show. We all bought those green American Idol shirts and we got all ten of them to sign our shirts. I sort of felt like a little 14 years old teeny-bopper but it was such a fun night. We all decided that this is the only way to see concerts now- 4th row seats and back stage passes. The top 10 each sang 3 songs each- when Archi came out the crowd was going crazy. It was so loud! It was a good time had by all! While we were at the little backstage party we realized that all of them were so nice and just regular people.

On Sunday Luke's family had a little picnic up at the Homestead in Midway. It was so relaxing and fun. Everyone was there except for Kate and her family. (We missed you guys!). It was a afternoon full of eating, chatting, baseball, and chess! Luke barely beat his little niece Maddie who is 10. I think that Midway is so beautiful. I told Luke that I would even move there but he said that he would pass. I don't think I am ever going to get out of Palmyra Utah!!!

Our Fun Weekend

This past weekend was practically perfect in every way. I have been begging Luke to go on a picnic with me and take me fishing up the canyon. Well, to my suprise Zach and Kari invited us to tag along with them on Friday. We went up to Maple Lake which is up Payson Canyon. It was absolutely beautiful! Let's just say that I was in heaven. I love being up the canyon, I only wished we could have stayed up there in a tent! Well we stopped at Subway before we went up the canyon and I asked the gal who was making my sandwich for some extra mustard....you should have seen my sandwich! It was a bowl of mustard with some wheat bread and turkey I swear. Well then on Saturday I pretty much just layed around all day while Luke worked on his darn work trailer. To my surprise we received another invite to go up the same canyon but to a different lake and with some different friends. Score! This time we all just sat around the campfire, chatted, and made some good ole' Smores. We left smelling like campfire and I loved it! One of these days I am going to get Luke to take me camping.

Summer Update

Luke and I at the Oakley Rodeo
Having Brunch at Cafe Terigo in Park City
Hailey, Dev, and Dee at Brunch
Grammy and Taycie Rae at the Parade
Dev and Georgia at the Parade
This year for the 4th of July we started off with the Oakley Rodeo on Thursday night. We had a blast and there was some good bull riding to be had that night! Don't worry I was the only one dressed up for the occassion. Then Friday morning the Hansen Family had been invited to a little brunch on the patio at Cafe Terigo which is on main street in Park City. We had VIP seats for the parade and it was so fun. The parade up there is pretty darn random to say the least! Then we headed back to the Midway house to hang out and get ready for our BBQ. I have never missed a year of the famous "Stadium of Fire", but this year we tried something a little different. We just enjoyed some family friendly fireworks in the street and then some lovely fireworks off Memorial Hill in Midway. Let's just say it beat having to fight the traffic for Stadium of Fire but there was still a little part of me that was missing the festivities in Provo! Well we ended up stayin up in Midway all weekend and it was so nice and relaxing. The entire Hansen Family was up there except for Josh and his cute little family. We really missed having them up there! The weekend was full of swimming, tennis, walks, eating, sleeping, playing pool, Ticket to Ride, and then some more eating! It was so fun to have our cousins from California come into town so we could all meet their little baby Lucy. I was in heaven with Dev, Taycie, and Lucy. There was always a little one that needed some attention! I think that the 4th of July might just be one of my favorite Holidays.
So what do you think of when you think of a temple worker? I picture the sweetest grandma in the world that is short and has white hair. Well folks please believe that Luke and I have been called to be Temple Ordinance Workers. When the bishop called us in to his office the other week, I about fell off my seat! I just was thinking we are way too young for that kind of business! Well we received our letter from the Temple presidency and then the next thing we knew we were getting set a part by President Merrill J. Bateman two weeks ago. We have been assigned Tuesday evenings from 5:30-10:30 p.m. It is a 2 year calling and we are feeling pretty overwhelmed with the new calling. We feel honored and humbled by our new calling and are ready for the challenge. I think it will be such a neat opportunity for us to learn everything so well. So don't be freightened when you see Brother and Sister Stewart with their name tags on at the Temple. When we got set apart we each received an amazing blessing from the President about how special this calling is and how we will be working in the House of the Lord. It was a really special and memorable experience for us. We start on July 22 and we are super nervous and excited at the same time.
