Luke's Broken Nose

Not many people can say that they broke their nose from the FLU.  But folks this is true.  We all encountered the flu. Evan first, then Livi, then Mama, and finished with Luke.  It was about 8:30 on January 14th.  The kids were sitting eating their breakfast and I was doing the dishes.  Luke was thinking that after all night of puking that it was finally almost over.  He came out of the bathroom and out of no where I watched his knees buckle, he hit the cabinet, banged into the bathroom door, and landed face first on the bathroom tile! SCARY.  I ran over and by that time he had already come out of it a bit but our bathroom looked like a crime scene and his nose...well that was a whole different story.  Needless to say I knew we were headed to the ER. Luke thought we could just go to the Instacare and have it stitced up and put back in place.  The nurse there sent us on our merry way to the ER.  So a few hours into the ER we knew we were going to have to meet with an ENT- usually they wait a week to set a broken nose but with the results from the cat scan they said to call them on Monday.  We had his nose all stitched up and we were discharged a few hours after our arrival (4 to be exact).  I almost passed out myself so the nurse was having me drink some juice and eat some crackers! (So embarassing!!!) Luke was all dressed and ready to go and the nurse promptly told him to undress and he was going in for surgery at 2 PM.  We both were a little shocked!  It was so bad- even worse when the ENT got in there. The Dr. said the entire left side of his nose was caved in, it was shattered in two places, and there was a lot of blood already behind his septum-which I guess isn't good.  Luckily everything went great- he was in recovery for a bit and then they put us in a room.  Luke did what he needed to so we could head home and after a long long long day at the hospital, and ER visit, and nose surgery in one day we were tired!!!  Poor guy was miserable for the first 4 days.  He looks great now and I can't believe his progress and how well his nose actually looks!   It was quite the story!

Christmas Post- Better late than never?!

I could hardly wait for Christmas this year- not because there would be a new truck out front or a new TV.  It was finally time to share my secret that I had kept for a whole month!!!!
Santa found our house and we were so excited.
Evan was so excited to leave treats out for Santa, Mrs. Clause, and the reindeer.
(He couldn't believe that the reindeer would come in our house!)
Evan lucked out and got his Red Wagon, and Livi got a Cabbage Patch doll!
And Daddy finally was in on our Surprise Baby #3
Livi had no clue what was going on this year but loved her Baba with her Dada.
 Evan couldn't believe his eyes!
Livi and Evan got a kitchen and it has been the best gift yet!  Livi loves it and Evan is constantly cooking us dinner.

This year was so funny because Evan wouldn't get near Santa at any of the parties and Livi just loved the chubby fella!

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Livi is 11 Months Old and we can't hardly stand it!
Only one more month until she is the BIG 1 year old.
Here is what this Busy little girl has been up to this month:
She is a little Terror
Her first name should have been BUSY
She takes about 4 steps on her own
She walks along anything
She stands up to everything
She out eats her brother and SQEALS so loudly for her next bite
She gets in to EVERYTHING
She keeps us on our toes
She loves to play with Evan
She says BaBa, Mom, and Dada
She is totally getting the cutest little pot belly!
She has 5 teeth
She had the flu
She opens and closes everything
She yells Mom all day long when she wants something
She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth!!!
She has a full thick head of hair
She begs to get in the bath with whoever is in
She unrolls the toilet paper any chance she gets
She loves to have little sips of soda...SHHH
She does the cutest scrunchy thing with her nose when she smiles
She is a serious little terror
She still takes good naps and sleeps through the night
She is so nice in the car
She is horrible at church!!!
She has the cutest little spunky personality
She is seriously our little sweetheart and we love her to pieces!!!!

Livi definitely keeps this Mama busy 24/7 but she is the funnest little girl in the world.  She lets us know what she wants and when!  Evan and Livi are just the best of friends and I love having two sweet little kiddos.  I am just hoping that Livi will be a great big sissy!  I am already thinking this baby #3 is going to be a hard thing for this little Missy.  She is a Mama's girl!
