Happy Birthday Mr. B

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today just happens to be my Dad's Birthday.  He would have been 52 today- so this picture is when he was 40. (That's why he is looking young!) Birthdays have always been a big deal- I love to make people feel special on their birthdays.  So in honor of my Dad I thought I would do a little post.  My dad passed away when I was 13 years old and I miss him more than words can say.  I always wonder what he would be like and now I wonder how he would be with little Evan.  That is what makes me the saddest is that Evan doesn't know his Grandpa Brad.
I think he would grit on Evan's little piggies...
I know that he would love to play with him and make him giggle...
I know that he would give him swigs of his Dr. Pepper...
He would probably sit up to the bar and share his Oreo cookies and Milk with him too....
So today Dad I just wanted you to know that I think about you everyday and I hope you have a wonderful Birthday in Heaven!  We love you and can't wait to see ya someday- until then we will continue to live so that we can be together forever someday!
Happy Birthday!!!!

Drum Roll Please.....

Slowly but surely we are making improvments on the little farm house.  This is by far my favorite one!
Here are the before:
Please enjoy the lovely wood paneling...

And dont forget the plastered wall paper that was officially not coming off for nothing!

It took us 4 days total....Luke working his booty off,  and some help from my brother in law Dee on the flooring.

The green carpet is officially gone!!!  Dee suggested a little 4x4 square hardwood floor entryway, which is my favorite part!

And here are the after:
Which includes all new baseboards and casing, new paint, new carpet, new light fixtures, hardwood floor entryway, and a whole new look!

It doesn't even feel like the same room.  We totally changed things around and are hoping that Santa brings us a new Flat Screen TV and stand.  We have been "mostly" good all year?!

The new and improved room!
(Don't worry the TV isn't staying there, we just haven't gotten a new one yet)

The new entryway! Visitors Welcome

It took a lot of work but it was totally worth it.  Luke literally did not go to bed one night and completely finished it.  Poor Evan was pretty much stuck in his high chair with Cheerios for a few days.  It still needs to be decorated and a few things adjusted but we are enjoying the finished product regardless!

9 Months already?!

I can't even believe that my Baby Evan is 9 months old.  Time goes way too fast.  I swear you blink your eyes and they are crawling everywhere and putting everything in their mouths!  Evan has changed our world for the better and he brings so much joy into our lives.  We can't even imagine our lives without him.

Evan at 10 days old......to this

So BIG!

And not to mention he is into EVERYTHING!
Here are the stats:
Weight: 18.3 lbs (15%)
Height: 29.5 (90%)
He is just a healthy little man.
He crawls everywhere.
He loves to pull himself up to everything and he thinks he is pretty big stuff!
Evan is such a good sleeper.
He puts everything in his mouth.
He loves eating "real" food and is not picky one bit!
He gives kisses and occassionally waves bye-bye.
He loves his daddy to sing to him before bed.
He loves to read stories and play peek-a-boo!
He is a happy happy boy.
He loves to play with other kids, especially his cousins!
He hates getting his diaper changed.
Evan begs for his crib- he just nuzzles right in and gets cozy.
He really is such a nice fella and we love him to the moon and back!!!

Halloween and More!

It was Evan's first Halloween this year and it was so fun to have a little one!  Except I just realized that we forgot to carve pumkins....Next year right?!  Evan was the cutest little Sock Monkey ever!

Evan and his Sock Monkey

Daddy and Evan

Evan and his cousin Kael were twinners!  This is Luke and his brother Jed- they pretty much look alike too!

Mama and Evan

Evan in his "My First Halloween" shirt.  Doesn't every kid have to have one of these?!

My sister Chelsi ran her first 1/2 Marathon on Halloween!  She did awesome.  I somehow need to get the urge to be a runner....hasn't happened yet!  Good Job Chels- that is quite the accomplishment!

My Mom's birthday was November 2, so we had a little family dinner at our place!

Chels and Taycie..she is seriously a hoot!  She has the cutest little personality ever.

The other night we were at dinner and we gave Evan an orange wedge.  Please believe he went to town!  It was hilarious.  He couldn't get enough!
We hope that everyone had a fun Halloween!
