Santa Came!

This was our first Christmas with a little one around and it was so much fun!  Evan didn't have a clue what was going on but it was still magical.  We spent Christmas Eve with Luke's family and then Christmas day with mine.  I can't wait till he can't sleep like Mommy on Christmas Eve because you can't wait for Santa to come!  Here are some pictures:

SANTA CAME!!!

All the presents ..... Thanks Santa

Evan loved his top, snickers, and reese's and that was about it!

Daddy and Ev trying out some new toys...

I had a black friday success story!  Since we re-did our front room it was time to update a little and get a new TV. Luke had been eyeing out the Samsung 40 inch, so please believe I got in line at Sears at 3:00 am and froze my booty off waiting in line!  Then stood in another line inside to get it and sure enough they had 2 left!  Yahoo!!! Luke had no idea so it was a big surprise on Christmas morning.

Mommy and Ev (Wow I am looking pretty scary!)

Christmas night we started a new tradition of going up to Midway with the Hansens.  It is always fun to have things going on all day long!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

This is the Place

This year we went to This is the Place State Park instead of the doing the typical Temple Square thing.  Lukes sister and her little family were in town, so we all headed up to Litza's Pizza.  It was fun and super cold!

Our little fam...Evan was all bundled up!

Cole, Cassie, Me, and Ellie

My two little guys!  Love em-

Visiting with the reindeer....
Evan is not a big fan of Santa, in fact not even a little bit.  No worries Evan Santa will still come to our house!
It was a fun night to be with everyone and I never pass up a chance to go up to the SLC.  I keep trying to talk Luke into moving back up there- not a chance!

Young Women Progressive Dinner

This past week the Mia Maids were in charge of our activity.  We ended up doing a progressive dinner!  It was so fun and the girls had a blast.  Sometimes I forget that I am the leader instead of just one of the gals~!

10 Months Old?!

Evan is getting so big too fast!  I can't stand it.  The little man is 10 months old today and he a busy, busy boy! Did I mention he is sooo busy?!  Here is what he is up to:
He is into everything
He crawls everywhere
He gives kisses
He claps his hands
He can do "more" in sign language
He says Mama and Dada
He can open just about everything
He likes to feed himself
He pulls himself up to everything and can take a few steps along things
He still nurses and loves it at that!
He loves to watch other kids...he gets so excited and just screams!
He is so dang tall and is wearing 12-18 month clothes
He has a mouth full of teeth
He loves to drip from cups or sippy's
He is so happy and fun!
We love you baby Evan!!!!
Here are a few pics~

Evan loves to do whatever I am doing- as long as he can see or hear his Mama he is a happy guy!

Daddy gets even so handsome for church

Evan and I still love to go everywhere together- we are just the best of buds!

Evan loves to go to his Daddy's B-ball games

Teething bites- literally!  Our poor guy has pretty much gotten all 8 teeth in the past month or two.  One day I heard him screaming and I went in to find his mouth full of blood.  PANIC!!! Oh no worries folks he has just been draggin his teeth all across and down his crib.  Poor guy and poor crib.  It was one of the finer things in our house!

Friend Christmas Party

This year a few of the gals decided to host a little holiday gathering.  We had a great turn out and it was so much fun!  Its so amazing to me that no matter how many years go by with out seeing eachother we can pick up right where we left off.  Some of these gals I see a lot and some I haven't seen in years.  As I drove home from Sandy, A: I wished I lived there. (It's not good for me to go up there because it takes me a good couple of days to remind myself that Luke would never live in the city). B: I thought about how grateful I am to have such great friends.  Its weird to think that some are Married, some are Mommy's, and some are getting their Masters!  We talked about kids, our marriages, and all the naughty things we did in the past together.  Let's just say it was a good time had by all. Here are some of the pics to document the night:
The entire gang!

Pris, Megan, Megs, Sarah, and I

Me, Megs, Care, and Bethy

Niki, Chelsea, Megs, Jamie, Trina, and Baby Sydney

Abs, Tacie, Megan, Sarah, Pris, Me, and Sabrina

Its so good to know that no matter how our lives have changed & the choices we have made friendships like these last forever.  So cheesy I know....but these gals are great~!  Thanks to everyone who came.

December update:

December is one of our favorite times of the year!  This year we were able to go with my family to breakfast with Santa at the Grand America downtown.  It was magical!
Evan was not a fan of Santa one bit!

This is our official picture with Santa.  Evan started out on his lap but that quickly changed once he realized who was holding him!

They had a huge Christmas tree in the Courtyard that was gorgeous.  It started to snow as we were leaving so it really felt like Christmas!

While Josh and his family were in town over Thanksgiving they stopped in one day so we could exchange Christmas gifts.  Evan gave Dal a BYU uniform and he was thrilled.  It was pretty dang cute!

Opening presents...
The boys wanted you to see the "Y"

Tayc doing her "cheese" face!

Gotta love the Holiday Season!  We can't wait to see what Santa brings this year....

Happy Birthday Mr. B

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today just happens to be my Dad's Birthday.  He would have been 52 today- so this picture is when he was 40. (That's why he is looking young!) Birthdays have always been a big deal- I love to make people feel special on their birthdays.  So in honor of my Dad I thought I would do a little post.  My dad passed away when I was 13 years old and I miss him more than words can say.  I always wonder what he would be like and now I wonder how he would be with little Evan.  That is what makes me the saddest is that Evan doesn't know his Grandpa Brad.
I think he would grit on Evan's little piggies...
I know that he would love to play with him and make him giggle...
I know that he would give him swigs of his Dr. Pepper...
He would probably sit up to the bar and share his Oreo cookies and Milk with him too....
So today Dad I just wanted you to know that I think about you everyday and I hope you have a wonderful Birthday in Heaven!  We love you and can't wait to see ya someday- until then we will continue to live so that we can be together forever someday!
Happy Birthday!!!!

Drum Roll Please.....

Slowly but surely we are making improvments on the little farm house.  This is by far my favorite one!
Here are the before:
Please enjoy the lovely wood paneling...

And dont forget the plastered wall paper that was officially not coming off for nothing!

It took us 4 days total....Luke working his booty off,  and some help from my brother in law Dee on the flooring.

The green carpet is officially gone!!!  Dee suggested a little 4x4 square hardwood floor entryway, which is my favorite part!

And here are the after:
Which includes all new baseboards and casing, new paint, new carpet, new light fixtures, hardwood floor entryway, and a whole new look!

It doesn't even feel like the same room.  We totally changed things around and are hoping that Santa brings us a new Flat Screen TV and stand.  We have been "mostly" good all year?!

The new and improved room!
(Don't worry the TV isn't staying there, we just haven't gotten a new one yet)

The new entryway! Visitors Welcome

It took a lot of work but it was totally worth it.  Luke literally did not go to bed one night and completely finished it.  Poor Evan was pretty much stuck in his high chair with Cheerios for a few days.  It still needs to be decorated and a few things adjusted but we are enjoying the finished product regardless!

9 Months already?!

I can't even believe that my Baby Evan is 9 months old.  Time goes way too fast.  I swear you blink your eyes and they are crawling everywhere and putting everything in their mouths!  Evan has changed our world for the better and he brings so much joy into our lives.  We can't even imagine our lives without him.

Evan at 10 days old......to this

So BIG!

And not to mention he is into EVERYTHING!
Here are the stats:
Weight: 18.3 lbs (15%)
Height: 29.5 (90%)
He is just a healthy little man.
He crawls everywhere.
He loves to pull himself up to everything and he thinks he is pretty big stuff!
Evan is such a good sleeper.
He puts everything in his mouth.
He loves eating "real" food and is not picky one bit!
He gives kisses and occassionally waves bye-bye.
He loves his daddy to sing to him before bed.
He loves to read stories and play peek-a-boo!
He is a happy happy boy.
He loves to play with other kids, especially his cousins!
He hates getting his diaper changed.
Evan begs for his crib- he just nuzzles right in and gets cozy.
He really is such a nice fella and we love him to the moon and back!!!

Halloween and More!

It was Evan's first Halloween this year and it was so fun to have a little one!  Except I just realized that we forgot to carve pumkins....Next year right?!  Evan was the cutest little Sock Monkey ever!

Evan and his Sock Monkey

Daddy and Evan

Evan and his cousin Kael were twinners!  This is Luke and his brother Jed- they pretty much look alike too!

Mama and Evan

Evan in his "My First Halloween" shirt.  Doesn't every kid have to have one of these?!

My sister Chelsi ran her first 1/2 Marathon on Halloween!  She did awesome.  I somehow need to get the urge to be a runner....hasn't happened yet!  Good Job Chels- that is quite the accomplishment!

My Mom's birthday was November 2, so we had a little family dinner at our place!

Chels and Taycie..she is seriously a hoot!  She has the cutest little personality ever.

The other night we were at dinner and we gave Evan an orange wedge.  Please believe he went to town!  It was hilarious.  He couldn't get enough!
We hope that everyone had a fun Halloween!
