President Gordon B. Hinckley

Where do you even begin when you have to pay tribute to our dear Prophet. President Hinckley was one of a kind. He had such a fun whit about him. He is the only prophet that I have actually had the opportunity to meet and it was an experience of a lifetime to be in the presence of a servant of our Savior. I was giving a fireside after I returned home from my adventure in Ghana and he happened to stop by where I was giving it. I will never forget the feeling, the spirit, or the emotion that I felt that night. He has been such a wonderful leader of our church and I pray that we can all remember him and stand a little taller! I am so grateful for all the work that he did while he was the prophet. He built so many beautiful temples and began the perpetual education fund- there are just so many wonderful things that you can say about this sweet little man. Although I was full of emotion when I heard the news, Luke reminded me about the special reunion that was taking place with him and Marjorie. What a neat day this was for them. I am grateful that I am able to say that Gordon B. Hinckley was my prophet growing up!

For some reason on my last post it wouldn't let me wrtie anymore. So I'll try it one more time. On Monday I was just feeling a little overwhelmed with escuela...you all know the feeling and so I decided that I needed to go see my Dev. She was cracking me up. Just loving her banana, pushing her stroller around, and wanting me to read her books! She is such a doll~
I also decided to include a picture of Luke on this post because I never seem to get any pictures of him. He is in the process of looking for a new job so if any of you hear of any good construction management, superintendent, or janitorial jobs send them our way! (The janitorial part is a joke!!!!)

This week...

Me and Hayden

This past week was my first week back at the books. It is weird to be able to say that I am a Senior and that I will graduate in April!!! Anyhow I am taking 7 class this semester and working 34 hours a week about. So during my free time I decided that I enjoy spending time with Luke and family the best. These past couple of weeks Luke's sister Kate and her husband Nate have been in town with their new little baby Hayden. He is such a doll.

New Years Eve

Today I found myself realizing that it was New Years Eve and we had not a thing to do. I got done with work at 3, took a nap, and got really bored. I can't remember the last time that I got bored, but I was dying. So I did what I usually do when I have free time- I head to Target. This time there was not a thing to be had. So then I decided to check out the sale items at Evans Gatehouse in Orem. I scored big time! I love buying Christmas stuff after Christmas because you save so much mulla. Then I thought that I should go get Luke and we could make something to do, but instead I suppose I got a better offer. My friend Anja and her girls were out and about and we decided to hit up Magelby's at the Riverwoods. So while Luke was sitting home watching some football game, I was enjoying salmon, potatoes, salad, and the most divine chocolate cake with my favorite gals! At the end of our night I asked them what their favorite thing about 2007 was. This made me think of what mine was....then I thought to myself, "Hopefully 2008 is better than 2007!" So here's to a great 2008~!

When I got home Luke was still just watching TV, he had fixed himself a sandwich, and I got home just in time to watch the ball fall in NYC! Then it was lights out for us. I guess New Year's has never been one of my favorite holidays. Hopefully you guys all enjoyed ringing in the New Year!!! Happy New Year.

Girls Night Out!

Sadie, Me, Grace, and Lauren
For Christmas I gave my little neighbor girls a sleepover night at our house. We ordered pizza, watched Shrek the 3rd, and ate junk. We just made a big old bed in the family room and you better believe that we had 3 American girl dolls join us for the fun. The two younger ones Grace and Lauren were all about staying up late! In the morning we made cinnamon rolls, eggs, and Minnie mouse pancakes. It was the funnest sleepover I have had in a long time!

Christmas Day!!!!

As you can tell Lucy was not loving me at this particular moment!

We started a new tradition this year of finishing Christmas night off up at Midway with the Hansen side of the family. We played games, ate, and opened our Christmas gifts from Grammy and Bompa. This year we have been so blessed by our family and friends with such wonderful gifts. We truly are so grateful.

Luke went to Idaho to go hunting a few days after Christmas which meant that I would have some free time, so I decided to go up to Midway because my uncle and aunt were bringing their kids and their new little baby girl Lucy. It was so fun to spend time with everyone over my Christmas break! It was Georgia's 7th birthday on the 28th so were all were able to celebrate with her.

I don't know about all of you...but I will always be a true believer in Santa. I absolutely love everything about it, especially how FM100 has been playing Christmas music since the day after Halloween. I love the lights, decor, gifts, spirit, etc. It is the most wonderful time of the year! So this year my Mother gave me a new camera and for this reason you will all be lucky to have another year of pictures on my blog! This year I made Luke go through the Festival of Lights here in Spanish Fork because we never did make it up to Temple Square. It is quite the display! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!
I took down my Christmas stuff a couple of days ago and my house feels so bare! It makes me feel like I need to go out and buy all new stuff for my house. Those are a couple of pictures of our house for Christmas.

Christmas Break

Our first party was with my Mom's side of the family and it was hosted at Brody and Linds new home. We always have pizza and then Jan's boys sing and of course Grandpa Huish sings! It is a fun tradition.
